Floral Wonderland: Mood Board – ORC Week 2

Hey Guys, its week 2 of the Fall One Room Challenge and I am finally making some decisions! I decided to create a 3D mood board of the space to better visualize how all the items will complement each other. This has been incredibly useful because it has definitely helped me to avoid buying items I think would work, but then would have ended up a disaster. We don’t want that now, am I right ;)?

This is what the nursery currently looks like AKA The Before

I started off with the feature wall. I got the wallpaper in 120×80 and I want to give myself enough leeway in order to fully maximize the wall space. I haven’t decided if I’ll use the full size or I’ll trim it down a little bit but it’s always better to have too much than not enough. I’m hoping to have the wallpaper and trim stop right before that pesky electrical outlet. Looking at the 3D design, I’m thinking I’ll keep the space simple with the crib as the only furniture against that wall in order to let the wallpaper shine.

The vision for this space

Speaking of simple things and shining wallpapers, I struggled to find the perfect area rug for this space. I wanted something pink but not too distracting and a solid color because I didn’t want anything to compete and clash with the wallpaper. I found a couple of rugs online I’m considering but I think I have an idea on which one I’m going to select.

On the other side of her room I wanted a mirror above her dresser but I also wanted a shelf to display accessories. And then I thought, why not both!

I got this 20in round mirror and it’s the perfect size for that space. It has some floral detail and looks a little antique and I just love it! I haven’t gotten the shelves yet because I can’t decide which ones to go for. I want something deep enough to put a little vase but with some security in front so nothing falls over to the changing table. That’s the reason why I moved the mirror to the right side of the changing table, you can never be too careful LOL. I also love having the glider near the window, its the best use of that little corner and creates a cozy nook for us.

The vision for this space

Next week, I’ll be selecting paint colors, planning the wall paper install, sharing some DIY vases and accessories I plan for this space. I’m hoping to start implementing most of my design in the coming week. I’m expecting a few more ordered items that I will also be sharing with you guys! You don’t want to miss the next post.

Check out the one room challenge page to see what the other participants are up to. There are so many exciting projects being worked on and I can’t wait to see everyone’s reveal!

Thank you for spending this time with my musings. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I’ll see you in my next post!
