Hey Guys! Its week 3 of the Fall One Room Challenge and we have orders being delivered – Yay!!! In my last post, I shared a mood board with my plans for this space and I was able to order most of the items I need.
The wallpaper and frames were delivered and it has been the highlight of my week. I laid them out and it looked exactly like I expected – I can’t wait to see it up on the wall. I’m going to spend the weekend measuring the wall space and defining where the wallpaper and frames will fit.
For the frames, I was initially going to brush paint them but at home depot, I made a last minute decision to spray paint instead. The frame has so many intricate details on it that this might be the best way to to efficiently paint it right. I went for a very light pink color to match the lightest pink in the wallpaper, but I also got another shade of pink with a metallic effect. I’ll try both and hopefully one, or a combination of both does the trick.

Another exciting delivery is the cutest little bedding set for her crib. It has subtle floral details and the most adorable sparkly bed skirt. To finish up this side of the room, I also got an area rug. This was the most difficult item to source for this room because I wanted something subtle that wouldn’t compete with the wallpaper. I ended up keeping it simple with a soft pink rug – I might end up changing it but for now it works.
On the other side of the room, I went back and forth with the design. I wanted something unique but functional. I got a beautiful 20inch round mirror so I had enough room for the floating shelves. The mirror has this antique brass effect that was unexpected but I love it. I’m also expecting the floating shelves I ordered and I’m hoping the brass tones are similar, otherwise I’ll have to spray paint one or both.

Speaking of spray painting, I am yet to decide if I want to paint the cabinet pulls, I really love it the way they look but then is there any rules against mixing metals? Drop a comment in the comment section, I’ll love to hear your thoughts.
To style the floating shelves, I got some picture frames and I plan to DIY some vases over the weekend. I’ll share more on my next post but these are some of my inspiration

Finally I’m on the hunt for a changing pad cover, some baskets for her changing table and some decorative items. But I think I’m ready to officially start working on this room
Next week, I’ll be sharing the DIY accessories I plan on making this weekend, the prep work for the wallpaper feature including how the paint color turned out on the frames and the final dimensions for the feature wall.
Check out the one room challenge page to see what the other participants are up to. There are so many exciting projects being worked on and I can’t wait to see everyone’s reveal!
Thank you for spending this time with my musings. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I’ll see you in my next post!
